7 Questions to Ask Before Signing a Medical Waste Contract

7 Questions to Ask Before You Sign a Medical Waste Contract for Service

No one wants to sign into a bad deal, no matter what it is. Signing into a medical waste service is a big deal and you want to know where your money is going. Don’t make a mistake and sign where you shouldn’t, ask these next seven questions before you sign!

  1. How long is the contract? This is the most important question to ask. You always want to know how long you’re locking in for. If the contract is longer than 12 months you should always ask yourself why that is. Many companies look to sign contracts multiple years-long to trap you into paying for services even if they increase their disposal fees.
  2. Are there any ways to get out? You should always know if there’s a way to break your contract need be. What if they raise the prices? Or the service isn’t all you thought it would be? Never be locked into a deal with no way out.
  3. Will there be additional charges? Always as about the upcharges. Many companies like to sneak in hidden fees after you’ve already signed. Be sure to go over all of the payment details before signing.
  4. What if I generate too much waste? You never know when you might have a busy day and produce more waste than you anticipated. Be sure to ask if there will be any extra fees if you go over your waste limit. Unscheduled pick-ups can be hefty fees at some companies.
  5. Do your employees wear a uniform? Always ask if your waste management has their employees wear specific uniforms. Business is all about image and you want to ensure that your waste management company takes your business’s image seriously and arrives in professional attire and not street clothing.
  6. Is there a customer service line? Always make sure there is someone you can call if you have a problem. Many companies don’t offer around the clock customer service representatives; so it’s important that you know there will be someone there in case of an emergency.
  7. If I have no waste on the pick-up day will I be charged? Some companies charge extra fees if they come to your business and you have no waste to be disposed of. Ensure you won’t be charged if this is ever to happen to you!
